Hi, I’m Lisa Speer
I’m the owner of Speer Creative Edge and host of the Branding BFF™ podcast. I’m on a mission to help people be authentic and connect in branding, business and life.
Personally, I was raised to color inside–the-lines. While I appreciate the value of boundaries, it was a rigid way to live and wasn’t authentic for me. There’s a lot more to that story, but the important piece is that it led me to two professions that value exploration and finding your own voice: the creative industry and the coaching industry. For awhile I kept them separate, until I discovered how much synergy there is between the two.
When I moved to Charlotte, NC in 2015, I brought all of my strategy, design and coaching skills into one business, Speer Creative Edge. I have a particular affinity working with service businesses, creative professionals and coaches. I call that my sweet spot! Learn more about the services I provide.

Creative Industry Street Cred
- I discovered design in high school and knew that was my path. My guidance counselor trying to steer me into a different career path “because I had good grades”, however I ignored him and stuck to my gut and what I loved. This led to a BFA in graphic design and MFA in visual design.
- I built my career in NYC working on global brands such as Volvo, Samsung, Hilton Worldwide. This is where I learned all about strategy and being “on brand”.
- After starting my first business in 2004, I learned my passion is working on brands for small businesses. I particularly enjoyed working with the founders and decision makers.
Coaching Industry Street Cred
- From hiring a coach after starting my first business and coaching a course on self-expression and leadership, I knew I wanted to become a professional coach. I chose to go through a top-notch International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited coach training program, Accomplishment Coaching.
- In my coaching business I was consistently drawn to working with people on authenticity and supporting them to create their own path – professionally and personally.
- From 2011-2014 I helped train and mentor new coaches going through the same program I had completed. I coached them on their new businesses and their lives. Their desire for authenticity reinforced this theme in my work.
My Communities
I’m a strong believer in the power of community and using my skills to lead, connect people and to give back. I’m immersed in the entrepreneurial, creative and coaching communities here in Charlotte, NC.
